"Conversations at the Crossroads: The Spiritual but Not Religious Life of Charles Lindbergh"
Friday, January 21 at 6:30pm
A key theme of Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center (SRMEC), housed in the oldest building at Gettysburg’s Lutheran Seminary, is the intersection of history and theology in the 19th century and beyond.
Historian Chris Gehrz, author of Charles Lindbergh: A Religious Biography of America’s Most Infamous Pilot, joins us on January 21 to discuss the story of the pioneering aviator who came to be as well known for his affirmation of white supremacy, anti-Semitism, and eugenics as for his 1927 flight across the Atlantic Ocean. Echoing the message of SRMEC exhibits, Gehrz’s presentation will show how religion and spirituality can impact the lives of historical figures.
