Member Zoom History Happy Hour - Christmas in Gettysburg During the Civil War

Having spanned four years, the American Civil War took soldiers away from home for prolonged periods and continually drew the attention of almost everyone across the United States. For many families, national and religious holidays offered some respite from war weariness and provided some solace, including the people of Gettysburg.

Join us as we welcome special guest Nancie Gudmestad, Founder and Director of the Shriver House Museum, to share the powerful story of the Shriver Family as we discuss Christmas stories and traditions from Gettysburg in the 1860s.
