Free Online Educator Seminar – “Corroborating Primary Sources: A Seminary Ridge Case Study”

Primary sources are important in any history classroom to understand the past, especially when examining confusing, chaotic events such as Civil War battles. At Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center (SRMEC) we have amassed an untold number of stories pertaining to the Battle of Gettysburg, all of which are built on primary sources. Join SRMEC educators as we explore how to investigate two such stories—one instance involving a handful of historical figures who generally agreed on what they saw, and another moment when half a dozen eyewitnesses remembered things quite differently.
